Why Regular Cleanings Are Important

  • You can prevent cavities, gum disease, and tooth loss in its tracks.
  • Early detection allows for prompt treatment that can save you time, money, and discomfort.
  • A healthy mouth contributes to a healthier body and a happier life.
  • Professional cleanings can remove stains and discoloration.

Comprehensive Exams & Cleanings

Your exam will include a thorough visual inspection of your teeth and gums, along with digital X-rays to assess your oral health below the surface. Dr. Davis makes use of advanced dental diagnostics to give you an accurate assessment.

Following this initial examination, she will discuss your oral health history, lifestyle habits, and any concerns you may have and, based on our observations, we'll create a personalized plan to help you achieve and maintain optimal oral health.

The cleaning portion of your visit is then performed by one of our skilled and gentle hygienists. Using specialized tools, they will meticulously remove plaque and tartar buildup for a deep dental clean. Following the thorough cleaning, we'll polish your teeth to remove surface stains and leave them feeling exceptionally smooth and looking radiant! We may also recommend a fluoride treatment to strengthen your enamel.

Keep Your Smile Healthy at Home

To keep your smile healthy between visits, we encourage you to create consistent routines for brushing your teeth twice a day (preferably with fluoride toothpaste), paying close attention to all surfaces of each tooth.

Flossing every day is just as important as it helps remove plaque and debris from the day along your gumline, where your toothbrush may struggle to reach. Incorporating a mouthwash can also help reduce bacteria and freshen your breath.

Additionally, being mindful of your diet and limiting sugary and acidic foods and drinks that can contribute to tooth decay can also make a positive impact. If you notice anything unusual before your next check-up, don't hesitate to contact Dr. Davis.
